Festival Celebration Choir presents “Songs of Justice and Reconciliation” on Sunday, May 19 at 3:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church of Albany. The program will honor Nelson Mandela’s 2018 centenary and the American civil rights movement with special guests, the Troy Children’s Chorus. Two of Dave Brubeck’s choral pieces will be presented: “I Dream a World” with text by Langston Hughes, and “All My Hope” accompanied by a jazz trio. The 2019 music scholarship recipient will sing a solo and the Festival Celebration Ringers will accompany a song by Pete Seeger, “The Bells of Rhymney.” Tickets are $18, $13 for seniors and students available from choir members or at the door.
TCC performs for the residents at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center.
