Dianna Parisi, Director

Dianna Parisi is an accomplished music instructor, pianist and organist with almost thirty years of experience in the Capital District.  She grew up in the small town of Kinderhook, NY, where music quickly became an integral part of her life.  Dianna was enthusiastically involved in musicals, marching bands, jazz ensembles, select choirs and the Empire State Youth Percussion Ensemble.  Music was and still is, without a doubt, her first true love.

Ms. Parisi joined the Troy Children’s Chorus in 2012 as the Assistant Director and Accompanist, working with both Shelly Ley and founder Maury Castro.  Dianna’s deep love for TCC has been exhibited vividly in everything she does, and she is so excited to be continuing with Troy Children’s Chorus as the Director.  Dianna is the Music Teacher at River Run Community Montessori in Niskayuna.  She is also the Organist/Pianist at Center Brunswick United Methodist Church, and is the Accompanist for the Niskayuna Community Chorus.  Dianna started teaching private piano lessons in 1984, and continues to teach over a dozen students with the same passion and enthusiasm. She served as the Organist for Unionville Reformed Church for eleven years, and was a dedicated and much loved music teacher at St. Mary’s School for three years, until the school closed their doors in 2004.  At St. Mary's, Ms. Parisi also independently created the St. Mary's Music Club, which provided weekly extracurricular vocal music instruction for students in preparation for various community performances. Dianna studied vocal pedagogy and technique with Floyd Haber.  She was classically trained on piano at The Landowska Center, in Lakeville, Conn., by Denise Restout and also studied with world renowned concert pianist, writer and teacher Anya Laurence.

As Director of the Troy Children’s Chorus, Dianna is very proud to be continuing founder Maury Castro's mission of devotedly making beautiful music in the spirit of respect and peace.
