Troy Children's Chorus...
- An exciting and inspiring ensemble for children in grades 2–8
- Open to any child who loves to sing!
- Non-sectarian
- Meets Tuesdays from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. Doors open at 3:30 pm
- Meets Saturdays October 1 and January 14 from 9–1 for choir camp
- Sings for Civic/Community events in the area (Victorian Stroll, Troy Night Out, Parades, etc.), as well as for nursing homes, etc.
- Sings a variety of music, including classical, folk, broadway, and world music
- Sings twice annually for the 10 a.m. worship service at First United as compensation for use of facilities, personnel, etc.
The 2011–2012 choir season runs from Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, through early June, 2012 (except Dec. 27, Feb. 21, and Apr. 10). There is open enrollment through September and then again in the month of January. Rehearsals take place in the Rose Room at First United Presbyterian Church.
Emphasis is placed on the enjoyment of music, proper singing technique, and the development of music reading skills.
Fees per semester: $20 music and materials fee
Autumn $30 one-time dress uniform fee; Spring $15 casual uniform fee.
